Join FAME Center for our 2021 Fine Arts Summer Camp! 

We’re thrilled to be able to safely offer a five week summer camp of Full Day, In-Person camp this summer, in alignment with the CDC’s Summer Camp GuidelinesIn addition to this- all Camp Teaching Faculty and Counselors are fully vaccinated! Rest assured we're doing all we can to keep your campers and families as safe and healthy as possible.

Each day campers will participate in 4, one-hour Music, Visual Art or Creative Writing classes facilitated by FAME Center teaching staff. Alongside fine arts classes, FAME Center counselors and campers will fill the rest of their days with their team doing fun, creative group activities, playing games, and spending time outdoors. Classes and activities are subject to change based on enrollment.

This year’s camp experience is designed for rising 2nd through 5th Graders (ages 7-11). Camp runs weekly Monday through Thursdays from 8:00am-3:00pm.

OR Looking for a week long half-day camp?

Check out Ms. Hannah and Ms. AJ’s Filmmaking Camp! Where we will spend 4 days coming up with a script, music and footage, and in the end we will have a mini movie theater release of our very own movie! 

Filmmaking Camp is designed for Campers age 8-12, and will run Monday through Thursday from 9:00am-Noon. Week long camp $200.

All 5 weeks are one all inclusive price of $1900.

What is FAME Center doing to ensure health and safety needs are met?

Campers will be placed in week-long pods of no more than 10 campers. Everyone will be expected to wear masks when indoors, social distance, and wash hands frequently. See our Covid-19 Release Form for more information on our Safety Policy (created in alignment with the CDC's Summer Camp Guidelines).

Where does camp take place?

Summer Camp 2021 will take place in the Daystar Academy building and FAME Center Studio at 1550 South State Street, Chicago IL 60605.

What medical and emergency information do you need for my child?

During the registration process you will be asked to provide an emergency contact, any known allergies, and share any medication your child will need to bring to camp (i.e. Epipens, etc.). 

Do we provide lunch & snack?

Campers need to bring a nutritious lunch, including a water bottle and a separate snack for the afternoon, each day.  Please label the lunch box/bag with your child’s full name. Please do not send candy, gum, or soda. No refrigeration or heating is available, so please pack non-perishable food. Please do not bring food for your camper to share. NO NUTS ALLOWED

What should my camper wear?

Campers should wear clothing that will allow them to be comfortable and physically active! Camp activities will take place both indoors and outdoors- we recommend bringing/wearing tennis shoes, weather appropriate outerwear, and a sweatshirt or lighter overlayer to wear inside. Campers should bring an art smock or old t-shirt to wear during art activities to protect their clothes. 

Can my child be in a group with a friend?

We do our best to honor friend requests, provided the children are in the same age group. Friend requests can be made during registration.

What should my camper bring to camp?

Campers should bring two clean masks, labeled lunch, snack, and water bottle, as well as sunscreen and insect repellent.

Is tuition assistance available?

Yes, it is! More information can be found on our Financial Aid page. If you are in need of a payment plan please email camp@famecenter.org.

Do you administer first aid? How do you handle emergency situations?

FAME Center staff will administer first aid if needed. In the event of a medical emergency, the camper’s emergency contact will be immediately notified and 911 will be called.

What are your age requirements?

All camps are open to rising 2nd-5th graders!
